Tips for on the day of the exam

If you are writing on campus:

  1. Prepare your bag, lunch, snacks, water, and clothes the night before. This will alleviate your stress and give you more time for decisions you need to make on the day.

  2. Pack your stationery in a see-through plastic bag if you are writing on campus.

  3. Remember your student card.

  4. Set your alarm for earlier than required. Being late can be catastrophic to your mental state.

  5. Get to the exam hall early – plan for traffic, accidents, and unforeseen mishaps. You don’t want to be rushing into an exam all sweaty from having to run there.

  6. Have spare tools. This means pens, calculators, paper, etc. Malfunctions can happen, so plan for them.

If you are writing online:

  1. Set up in a well-lit, cool and quiet room where no disturbances can occur.

  2. Ensure that you have a stable internet connection.

  3. Ensure that your device is fully charged.

  4. Log on at least 10 minutes before the commencement of each examination session to ensure that everything is working well.
